Well, what a good start to the year so far !

To date;

SpArC day on Jan 28 at Rawlins Community College. Making marks to music to reconfiguring to sculpting , or as they called it.............. Fine Art to Music. Whole day, great day !

attended an EMPAF forum event and made contact with other freelancers, particularly a couple working in mental health situations, which sounded interesting.

Yesterday completed a painting taster session at St.Leonard Swithland C of E Primary School with key stage one youngsters. They got filthy, I was exhausted (but I wasnt in best health) and we all had a great time.

Today held a cartooning taster session at Wymeswold C of E Primary school with year 2 students. Less tiring (as I felt a little better and there is a huge diference between the two year groups!), but equally enjoyable and all of the kids enjoyed it. Even the one who claimed he couldnt draw who then went on to do a great drawing of his main character! Love it when that happens.

These two taster sessions were aimed at possible afterschool clubs through the BEST school partnership programme around Loughborough.

Last saturday started my ten week arts club in Barwell and signed up five for the Youth Arts Award with a possibility of two more this saturday (tomorrow). Im employing Darren Bond this and alternating saturdays as assistant, and I love being able to do that too. So I have now employed Melissa, Darren and my own number 2 son, Sam. Isnt it great to help others whilst helping yourself?
