Its been a while since I posted anything on this blogthing, it seems facebook has superseded it. More people read facebook than my blog. However, since reading somebody elses blog.....lizardyoga....it think it was called or was that the authors tag.............dont recall, and I only read it five minutes ago.
Anyway, Ive been growing this bald patch but now , since meeting a herbalist via facebook, I am now growing a non bald patch ! Thats not because I met a herbalist, of course, but because the herbalist made up a magic potion in the form of a shampoo. Crazy but it works. But maybe it isnt so crazy, because it works.
Returning to the aforementioned blog, it made me realise how much I miss writing and, although Ive only ever sold one story (to a local newspaper) I do enjoy the writing process, so Im going to start doing some more. Now the question is this.....do I write here, on this blog, which was set up just for my art, or do I open another blog account?
Its important because thats what happened on my facebook page. I started it to promote my art and I do manage to keep it mostly to do with art in general, but still other things creep into it. Actually, I now have three facebook pages, plus some pages linked to one of them which are also supposed to be about art. Its all a bit of a mess really. A bit like my studio.
I really need to redesign my studio. I know what I want. I want the end wall to house the desk and above that to have my painting storage, possible two levels. Along the shaded wall storage racks for paper, paints , sketch books, etc. leaving the opposite long wall for supporting several paintings on the go. The table can go in the corner next to the exit and must be kept clear for clean working, cutting, etc.
Thats the plan, but executing it is of course the hard part. Im not a builder. Not terribly practical. But one day it will get done.
So, I have my solo show coming up at the end of May in Yorkshire and recently had a fright when I couldnt find a painting that was destined to be shown there. Turned up in the KLA building in Leicester along with four others I had forgotten about. Happy days ! such a relief to know it wasnt stolen............although it wouldnt be the first time, which is a bit of a backhanded compliment. Should I feel good that somebody wanted a painting so badly they stole it, or feel bad that they didnt pay for it? which is best? I could follow the negative but these days I try to follow the positive. I tried the former and it doesnt work.
So, there, Ive written something. It includes words about art. So maybe Ive answered my own question.
Love all, hurt none, and walk in soft shoes
