Banquet.......................Hurrah !

Knighton Lane Artists Group Ltd., an artists co-operative of which I am a director, have held the P.V. of their latest exhibition at The Richard Attenborough Centre, Leicester, to the accompaniment of a Jazz combo and also entertained a short lecture on the history of food in art. The exhibition continues until May 9th, 2010. The evening was a great success.left to right; mine, Lydia Manship, mine.

It looks like I got the headline slot as these three sit above the show title etc.. Lydia is a mature DMU fine art student. Another alumni exhibiting with the group is Hamish Whiteley who had two sculptures accepted into the show

.A quartet of eggs, also all mine ! In all I managed to get 6 paintings accepted into the show which, by any standards, is no small feat.

This particular YAA course has just three Saturdays left before I book moderation for the award and Im awaiting the outcome of further funding for similar projects in my area.

I have also secured some small funding for a clay portraiture class for just 6 students. This is not aimed at any certification or for any particular age or social grouping, but for anybody interested in learning how to capture a portrait in clay, make a mould , and cast from it. I have already spoken to a female model I know very well and she is excited. I chose her because she has a face that calls out for 3d work, she is my friend, she is a good model, and she can assist in the technical side of casting as she is also an artist. Its just fitting it in between her many foriegn jaunts !

I also just collaborated with Louise Katerega , creative director of Foot In Hand dance company, combining dance and art with children who speak English as an additional language (EAL) aged only 5 and 6. We had an enjoyable, hard working, afternoon with them and they managed to come across some new words, and to consolidate some already known words into sentences, and made a little dance too!

oh, and the new car is going nicely too ! hahaha.
